Q-Review
This television series
has garnered a respectable number of followers, enough to warrant a fifth
release of Xena-music from Varese Sarabande. This release comprised of
vocal track after vocal track. Many of them are sub-par remakes of
songs spanning a half-dozen genres. It may take a moment or two to
recognize but some of these remakes are of disco-era hits (Dancin' in the
Moonlight), while others are folk songs of the early seventies (We Can Work
it Out). There are a number of original pieces written by the album's
producer, Joseph LoDuca, most which are instrumental tracks ranging from
quirky underscore to rap music.

The
Bottom Line
This release is definitely
tailored for the hardest of core Xena fans as anyone else will likely find
little redeemable about it. As remakes go, few of the original songs
have been done justice on this compilation. The instrumental tracks
included are no more pleasing than the vocals. While the Xenites of
the world may gobble this stuff up, those looking for an enjoyable musical
diversion should stear clear of this release.
