Composer of the Year - John Powell
Composer of the Year - John Powell

Nominees:

John Powell
Trevor Rabin
James Horner
Klaus Badelt

Winner::

John Powell

Having a year similar to that of John Williams of 2005, composer John Powell dropped four solid feature film scores on us.  Ranging from the comical, ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN and HAPPY FEET, to the somber UNITED 93, to the rabble-rousing X-MEN:  THE LAST STAND - John Powell cleary demonstrates that he is one of the most versatile and productive composers out there today.  Always fresh and with interesting angles, John Powell's scores always make a pretty clear point.  For 2006,....point taken!
