Rarely does a
superhero film get consideration for Best Original Score by ol' Oscar
and 2006 was no exception. While Superman Returns might bring a
debate whether it was worthy of Oscar talk, it would be hard to argue
that John Powell's evocative score for X-Men: The Last Stand should
at least be nominated. Sure the film wasn't up to snuff, but
Powell's work was easily the best of the three X-Men films and some of
the best music of the year. |
