"UP IS DOWN" - PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN:
AT WORLD'S END BY HANS ZIMMER
In one of 2007's most enjoyable scores, the
short cue of "Up is Down" captures the essence of the third installment
of the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN franchise...indeed it does for the
entirety of the series. With its brisk pace, adventurous and
sometimes comic edge, "Up is Down" has been called "a return to classic
pirate-music" by some. There is nothing subtle here as this track
as well as the rest of the score for AT WORLD'S END, means to squeeze
as much brash, in-your-face-thematic material out of its musical notes
as have ever been written. And why not? That is what the
series was about: pure, unadulterated, fun and high-seas. |
