THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM BY JOHN POWELL
Last year composer JOHN POWELL dominated the
Cue Awards with 11 total nominations. For 2007, his output
significantly decreased (and who could blame him), yet one of his
2007-projects, THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, packed enough of a whallop to
garner him yet another Cue Award for his virtual-mantle.
From our review: "Powell musically matches Greengrass' intensity
scene for scene, blow for blow, and stunt for stunt. He reprises Jason
Bourne's main theme as well as his eclectic combination of orchestral
and synthesized elements with Western and Middle-eastern
instrumentation. The overall effect suits Mr. Bourne and his
jaw-dropping exploits to a 'T.'" |
